| I did not use the original BOSE box, I made a custom MDF bracket to support the speaker. Its very simple to make a little trial and error and its ready, the 2 sides are mirrors of each other. It connects using 3 of the BOSE box mounting holes. My dilemma was whether to use a baffle or not. I tried with the baffle and it sounded like shit. So, I cut a large wedge out of the bottom of the baffle and the speakers sounded much better. My goal was to shield the speakers from any dripping wetness that came into the door panel while keeping great sounds. I ordered the baffle for under $10 somewhere online, I think crutchfield. I am very happy with the results. The only question is the longevity of the MDF in a humidity-rich environment. I'm in Florida. We shall see. I traced the pattern I used for my cut outs to make one out of a non-rusting/non-wood material, if the need arises. As for the wiring, if the amp can reasonably accomodate the bare cable without concern, use that. There is no need to add spade tips to the wire if you don't need them. If its visible, the install may look better with the spades, but I don't think its necessary. I don't use them on my 5-channel Kenwood and I've never had a problem There's nothing wrong with some trial and error.... Good luck.
